Cyprus | SMASH #Vol. 5

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We certainly have in our family, but I must admit that it is perfectly  okay with me to get back to normal again :-D

December has been incredibly busy so it's wonderful to look back on two great vacations back in September and October. As you know we spent a week in Cyprus and today I have more pages from my SMASHbook for you.

The bazaar and Starbucks - two very different worlds

Left: Still in Nicosia. Right: Back in Ayia Napa

We went photoshooting in Ayia Napa

Left: We're having a cold coke. Right: The funfair Luna Park by night

Left: A very rarely selphie of us. Right: Ticket and description of the next daytrip

Now I'll move on to a Christmas layout with my granddaughter. Till then.....

Cyprus | SMASH #vol. 4

Hi,

On this cold and rainy (at least here in Denmark) December Sunday I'm joining in with some SMASHpages from the warm Cyprus.

Daytrip to Nicosia

We went on a trip up to Nicosia, a city which is seperated between the Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot population.

Firstly we visited Cyprus Handicraft Center. I made a pocket from some scrapbooking leftovers for the brochures you could collect at the center.

Tilføj billedtekst

Afterwards we went around in some of the old streets in the Greek-Cypriot part of the city and ended up in the modern part of Nicosia. The modern part is just like every other modern European city but one thing -

.... the Checkpoint to the Turkish occupied part of the city. It's really surreal because you need a visa to cross the border and the Checkpoint is right in the middle of a pedestrian zone. When you came over to the Turkish occupied part of Nicosia it felt as if time had stood still for many many years. We saw the old caravanserai Buyuk Han which todays is transformed into a lively center for the sale of handicrafts, The Selimiye-mosque and the bazaar before leaving for the Greek-Cypriotic part of the city.

The bazaar and coffee at Starbucks

After lunch we had coffee at Starbucks before exploring more of Nicosia.

I hope you enjoy all the Christmas preparations during this busy month.

Layout | Nicoline's First Selfies

Hello everyone,

Wow, it's already December again.... I don't really know where the year has gone!! It feels like it is only a couple of months since last Christmas.

Anyway, I'm here with a layout for Nicoline's album.

Nicoline's first selfies

She loves playing around with a camera and sometimes she borrows my old pocket camera. The photos are her very first selfies and I really can't stop smiling when a look at all the funny faces she sometimes makes when there is a camera near her :-)

The word "Selfie" is cut out by hand

This was all for now, I will continue working on my SMASHbook from our wonderful vacation in Majorca.

See you soon with more pages from Cyprus.

Cyprus | SMASH #vol. 3

Hi everyone,

Are you ready for more pages from my Cyprus SMASHbook? Anyway, here they come.

Wednesday market in Agia Thekla

Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. there was a local market in Agia Thekla, so we caught a bus and went out there. We bought nothing but had a lot of fun looking at the stuff they sold. Close to the market there was a small chapel which we had to check out, and suddenly we found this little cave which initially was a holy place for the early Christians.

I made a little book with more photos from the cave

We  paddled a little in the water and went to the small restaurant for refreshments.

The only kind of ice cream available in Agia Thekla

On our way back to Ayia Napa we didn't get off the bus right in time, so we ended out in the middle of nowhere. We really made a lot of fun out of it. We walked and walked until we finally found a bus stop where we waited for the bus back to town.

After that trip... COFFEE PLEASE :-D

Cyprus | SMASH #vol. 2

Hello guys,

Today I have a couple more pages from my Cyprus-SMASH for you.

Breakfast on the plane and coffee on the balcony outside our room

We had breakfast on the plane and besides the decent omelet it really wasn't something special :-D

Day 2

Tuesday we went sightseeing in Ayia Napa and started at the old monastery, a beautiful and peaceful place in an area with lots of bars, restaurants and souvenir shops.

The harbour and sunset.

Our long walk ended up at the harbour with small fishing boats and excursion boats lying side by side. On the left page you see a copy of "The Black Pearl" waiting to go on a family pirat-trip.

We just managed to watch the sunset on our way back to the hotel where the dinner was waiting. It only took a couple of minutes before it was totally dark.

This was some of the pages from day 2 in Ayia Napa.

Cyprus | SMASH #vol. 1

Hi everyone,

Now I am ready to show you a couple of pages from my SMASHbook from our vacation in Cyprus back in September.

Front cover

The signs and "Cypern" are made on the computer. Keep calm and think of AYIA NAPA is from Pinterest and the flag at the bottom is made of Washi tape. In addition I used stamps and a woodveneer.

I put a  keyhanger from Cyprus onto the strap for the pen

And now on to the pages.

I was SO excited getting startet, so I actually already made the left side the evening before we left. I made the right side in Ayia Napa.

pages SMASHed in Cyprus

I brought my Selphy printer so I could print out photos and SMASH now and then during the vacation.

We left home 03.30 a.m. so we grabbed some breakfast and a coffee at the airport. On the right page we are on our way.

I brought a small bag with different stash; stickers, pens, Washi tape, cutouts, stamps and so on.

I will soon be back with more pages from the book.

The Little Things.... | Pink Lady Apples

Hi everyone,

Well, - in my last post I promised  to be back soon, but it has been a while since I posted here. I'm not quite sure anyone has missed me *smiling*.

As some of you might know I started creating layouts of some of the little quite ordinary things in my life which I enjoy very much. The page I'm going to show today is with a photo of what I often eat for breakfast.

I love eating Muesli with the worlds best apples, if you ask me - Pink Lady. Pink Lady apples are also so delicious for a treat and for dessert. YUMMY....

Closeup of the Pink Lady heart

I used the Pink Lady heart from the box they came in as embellishment. Very original I think, and totally free.

Another closeup

Even if we did a trip to Mallorca, Spain 2 weeks ago, the last couple of months has been very busy with much too much work, extra shifts and so on, so lately I did not create any new layouts, but I have only been working on the SMASHbook from our vacation to Cyprus. As soon as the SMASHbook is ready I surely will present it here on the blog, but untill then...

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and take care.

Project Life | Week 23

Hi guys,

Since my last blogpost I have been on 2 weeks vacation. We spent the first week in our summerhouse and the last week we traveled to Cyprus and came back last Monday. We had a great time in Cyprus and took a lot of photos for scrapping. For the first time I was SMASHing while traveling and I created some pages from the first couple of days at the hotel. It was really hot down there and I really enjoyed SMASHing now and then when it was too hot outside and more comfortable inside with the AC running.
I certainly am going to show some of my SMASH pages here when they are ready to publish.

But now on to my Project Life spread for week no. 23. I must admit this is the latest spread I have made, so I have run far, far behind. Maybe I will catch up on it, maybe not - we'll see. The problem is I haven't taken may photos of my daily life lately. I really have to tighten up.

Week no. 23

Well, I will go on working on my SMASH pages.

I am linking up with The Mom Creative Project Life September edition

Have a great Sunday.

Layout | A Proud Little Girl

Hi again everyone,

It has been a while since I made my last blogpost. It has been a very hot and busy summer and I totally lost my mojo
A lot has happened over the summer, for now I can share 2 of the things with you: We said goodbye to our wonderful dog, argh... it was SO tough and we miss him SO much, he will live in our hearts forever that's for sure. Our little granddaughter (2½ years old) broke her leg which gave all of us a lot of challenges since she could not be in the Kindergarten while having a leg in plaster.

Saturday I started 2 weeks vacation and what could be nicer than to start with a lovely crop along with 60 other scrappers? I didn't create that much but I came up with a cover for my vacation-SMASHbook and this layout for Nicolines album.

The photo isn't the very best, but I really think you can see the pride in her face. She came home from Kindergarten with her very first necklace made of giant wooden beads. She was SO proud. I really love this photo.

I will be back soon.

Project Life | week

Hi, I really enjoy the only day off for this week. I went shopping, made some daily routines in the house and of course I did some scrapping. I finished the week 22 spread, but today I am here with my Project Life spread for week 21.

Week 21

We changed the dinner plans and wanted to barbecue, but we really did not have anything suitable in the house, so we had what we could find in the house, anyway it was delicious.
Totally empty corridors when I arrive at work at 6:45 a.m.
Our lilac blossoms for the second time.
We went to the election for choice the European Parliament.
I bought a new pocket camera.
Nicoline is shortly in a sulky mood.

Hi again, today I am here to share a layout with Nicoline. This is also my take on the second June challenge over at Scrap & Play. The challenge is lifting the layout shown further down in this post.

Nicoline i haven

I used the Echo Park Little Girl series and embellishments from my stash.

Details

The bird and sun/cloud cut-outs are from Kaisercraft, the banner is homemade and the black letters are fro Glitz Design.

Details

Isn't the fabric covered button a cutie? It is from Purple Pumpkin.

And here it is - the layout you have to lift if you want to play along.

I can't wait for the next challenge over at Scrap & Play.

Project Life | week 20

Hello, Happy Sunday.

Just a short post with my week no. 20 spread.

Week no. 20

The first days of the week were very busy with lots of work so I did not manage to take any photos. The last part of the week we spent with Nicoline and some days working on our summerhouse and visiting some of the neighbours up there.

I am linking up with The Mom Creative June Project Life link-up.

I wish you a wonderful new week.

Layout | Tivoli Parade.......

I once again have played along over at Scrap & Play, and today I have a layout from a Halloween trip to Copenhagen for you. Tivoli is SO beautiful around Halloween and I was lucky to come right in time for the Parade, and of course I had to take a photo of Harlequin and Columbine, Pierrot and some of the other characters.

Here you have Harlequin and Columbine

Challenge no. 3 over at Scrap & Play is a Tic Tac Toe

I chose to use Buttons, Fancy Pants and chipboard

I used a very old paper line called Summer Soiree which I bought several years ago. I just love the colors but actually I found the papers rather difficult to work with, but I think they work pretty well with the photo.

The chipboard numbers and ampersand are from Jillibean Soup and I used some yellow and dark red buttons and put a half bead on top of some of the buttons.

This was all for now. Have a great new week.

Project Life | week 18

Hello everyone. On Life In Details we have the June challenge ready for you. This months challenge is to create a confetti pocket card, but don't hesitate joining us if you are unsure of how to make a pocket card, DT-member Caroline has prepared a great tutorial which will be shared on the LID-blog in a few days!

Firstly I will show you my week no. 18 spread.

Week no. 18

I chose photos from the weekend for this spread. Saturday 4 scrapfriends and I celebrated National Scrapbooking Day. We had a great and creative day. Sunday we took a trip to the beach in Hjerting with Nicoline and her parents. It was a wonderful trip with lots of fun and ice cream but it was rather windy out there by the bay.

I am also going to show you the confetti pocket card I created for the challenge.

I used sequins as confetti

Have a great week. See you soon.

Layout | Little Moments......

Hello scrappy friends. I have created a layout for the second challenge over at Scrap & Play.  I dont know why, but is it not very easy to take a decent photo of my wonderful son. As the son of a scrapper one should assume he was used to being photographed, but NO.....  I was lucky to shoot this photo at Nicoline's Birthday

The Scrap & Play challenge is a word challenge and the word is F L O W E R S (feks. F = floss). I used:

F = Flair button. L = Little Moments title. O = October Afternoon alpha stickers (blue) + "Memories" tab. W = Wood veneers + washi tape. E = Enamel dots and hearts + Echo Park For The Record 2 line. R = Rick rack ribbon. S = Stickers + Stars + stamped "Love this" arrow.

Some details...

...... more details
See you.

Project Life | week 17

Hi, today I have another Project Life spread for you. Currently I am working on week no. 18 so I am running a bit behind, but I think I still can manage catching up to date.

Week no. 17

The most important things (at least those I can tell you about) was my sons birthday and the rejointing of our house. The carpenters has almost finished the new roof and there is still no gutters, but now we can see an end on the work. Sadly we could not be together with our son on his birthday this year. He was very busy because of arrangements concerning Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen.

I am linking up with The Mom Creative Project Life May link up.

This was all for now. I wish you a wonderful week.

The Little Things.... | Flowers vol 1.

Hi, are you enjoying the weekend? I am, though I have spent pretty much time cleaning and removing dust after the masons and carpenters. They have finished putting on the new roof and we think it looks great.

Tomorrow it is Mothers Day and I know my daughter and her little family intend to pay us a visit which I look very much forward to.

Now on to my latest layout. It is a page for my "The Little Things..." album. I LOVE tulips and I enjoy having a buket in the house. Just one of the little ordinary things which makes my happy.

A beautiful buket of tulips

I used the Snapshot series from Bella Bvld for this layout. I love the bright colors.

Some details

Have you heard of the brand new challenge blog Scrap and Play? They are now hosting the very first challenge and I am playing along using their sketch. I can't wait to see what they come up with in the future challenges.

Eurovision Song Contest 2014 takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark, tonight, - Europe is going to have a party, so I'm off. See you....

The Little Things..... | Coffee vol 1.

Hi everyone,

For me scrapbooking is about documenting my life, so I decided to make an album to document some of the little quite ordinary things in my life which I enjoy very much.

Cafe latte at Café Pia in Blåvand

One of the things I really enjoy is a nice cup of coffee. I am sure there will be more Coffee-pages now and then, so I called the layout "Coffee vol. 1"

Some details

Over at The Studio Challenges they are challenging us to use numbers on our layouts, and I am linking up to them. There are some fun challenges over there so I think you should check them out.

Enjoy the wonderful sunny (a least here in Denmark) Monday.
